Re: Playing behind closed doors
Just as an aside during the last season at the Boleyn police were only stationed inside the stadium for 2 matches.

When you consider the lack of problems you appreciate what a good job the stewards did, which makes you wonder why the club did not insist unequivocally that they should have been retained & paid properly in the London Stadium.

Not exactly true, the workaround is to station Police vans outside the stadium that allow radio contact to those inside, but you are right in that it is the fault of the stadium owners & yet another 'oversight' that makes things more difficult than they should be.

Re: Playing behind closed doors
Nothing like letting the facts spoil a good story.

The truth is that there are no radio communications in the stadium so the Police will not enter it until this is rectified, they fear that their officers would be in danger if they could not use their radios.

This equipment will be in place by the new year, this should have been in from the start and is the fault of the stadium owners and west ham for not addressing this earlier.

They are the facts.

I thought there was an issue as to why there couldn't be old bill in the stadium? Radios or summing?

Re: Playing behind closed doors
IF they had paid for old bill, 100% would have not been that trouble, seats and people jumping over barriers.

We saw it first time last season (since Stoke/Burnley in the champ 04) against Man City. This game had NO old bill, only stewards. For years and years we had singing 'banter, but that's it.

The police have been taken away, that's no one but the clubs fault and problems have and will now occur.

Take the police away from spurs v arsenal, Man Utd v City/Liverpool and you think the same wouldn't happen? It's NOT the fan base, it will ALWAYS be there.

Re: Playing behind closed doors

Its clearly fit for purpose as it was cleared by the football authorities.

Ok, il rephrase, it's not fit for segregation and that's why we have had trouble at every game.

Re: Playing behind closed doors
isn't it a case of us not paying for more old bill?

surely its not just this straight forward to fix?

I think you are right. Can remember watching the highlights on Sportsnight and could quite clearly hear someone shout out "Fucking great goal Pikey", or something similar. Surprised they didn't ban the Club for that!!!

Re: Playing behind closed doors
Am I right in saying that we have a 100% record of playing behind closed doors?

5-1 vs Castilla?
